Get NewTechWood Composite Decking in Victoria
Tired of maintaining your old timber deck or looking for a new, modern look for your outdoor entertaining area? Consider NewTechWood composite decking for your Melbourne home.
NewTechWood composite decking is an innovative, versatile and environmentally-friendly product that can withstand the extreme weather conditions often experienced across Victoria. In fact, NewTechWood timber-look wood plastic composite boards are a preferred product throughout the world, from cold alpine locations to hot desert environments.
Composite decking boards can be placed onto your existing sub-frame and are a simple, efficient way to replace old split, faded or scratched boards. Featuring 360-degree UltraShield polymer capping, NewTechWood composite decking is protected against UV and water damage and stops insects and bacteria from attacking the board’s core.
Unlike traditional boards and first-generation composite products, this means no more problems with:
- Colour fading
- Fungus, mould and mildew
The boards are weather resistant, and stain resistant and require very little maintenance with no sanding, oiling or repainting ever required. A long-life product, it comes with a 25-year warranty and is BAL29 bushfire rated, meaning it is suitable for those Melbourne and regional VIC areas where there is a high fire risk.
Hard wearing, there’s no need to worry about food and drink spills. The Ultrashield capping around the deck board is stain resistant – simply wash off any spills without the risk of permanent staining.
In VIC there is a choice of TWO (2) decking ranges:
1. The TERRACE solid deck boards come in 5 colours to give you the look of a traditional timber deck. The deep-brushed finish gives a milled timber appearance. If you are renovating and want to replace your old timber deck using the existing sub-frame, then choose the TERRACE solid deck boards which are installed at 450mm joist spacing.
2. For the most luxurious look choose the stunning wide board COASTAL decking range. The boards are 210mm and have a deep texture giving the boards a weathered timber look. With the high P5 slip rating they are perfect for around the pool and for commercial situations. They are installed on sub-frames with up to 400mm spans.
With either decking range, there is the choice of a traditional 5.5mm gap between the deck boards, or if you live in the leafy Sydney suburbs or a rural setting, you may prefer the mini-gap to avoid leaves and debris getting stuck in the gaps. Mini-gap clips give a 1.5mm space which is also safer for public areas, to avoid heels getting stuck in the gaps.
… and Decking is not the only composite product that NewTechWood provides: there is also an extensive range of screening and cladding profiles for your fencing, privacy screens, facades, exterior wall cladding, and architectural decorative screening features.

Have more questions? We have the answers!
Is NewTechWood composite timber maintenance free?
NewTechWood requires No Oiling, No Sanding, No Painting. However, no product is totally maintenance free! Normal sweeping and cleaning is still necessary to clean off debris and dirt, and to keep your deck looking at its best. NewTechWood’s fully capped colour technology coats the boards with a high stain and fade resistant layer. This also makes the boards waterproof, so there is no need for any labour that would be necessary with regular timber.
Will NewTechWood composite timber fade because of exposure to the sun?
NewTechWood’s superior technology gives the boards great Ultra-Violet resistance. When installed, cared for and maintained properly in the residential exterior deck environment, NewTechWood products provide fade resistance. However, no material is fade proof, especially when the materials are exposed to years of UV Exposure and the elements. NewTechWood warrants that the boards are resistant to colour change from light and weathering exposure as measured by colour change in excess of 5 Delta E (Hunter) units. What joist spacing is required when installing NewTechWood decking?
Due to varying climatic conditions in different countries, joist spacing may vary. For the Australian recommendations, please refer to the Profile Tables on the specific Decking Product pages of the website, for each specific board profile. Generally, for Australian residential installations it is 350mm maximum span for the Metro Range; 450mm maximum span for the Terrace Range; and 400mm maximum span for the Coastal Range. The recommended spans for both Residential and Commercial installations are listed on the Decking Product pages’ Profile Tables.
