With a view like this from your backyard, who wouldn’t want to relax poolside and enjoy it?  Especially in Queensland where being close to the beach or owning a pool are popular decisions due to the tropical climate.

This project, however, was on a site that was very difficult to access.  In fact, the previous owners had thought about installing a pool but had decided against it because of the difficulties faced, so they scrapped the idea.  The new owners, however, being more adventurous, didn’t want to waste the view and decided to go ahead and install a pool and a new deck.

Tim Lee, Director of Quality First Constructions, said the access problems presented a monumental challenge, but they were up to it, and he started by presenting the owners with many samples from different decking brands, including NewTechWood.

The owners chose NewTechWood (Terrace range) because they believed the NewTechWood profiles were the most realistic timber-looking composite board from all those they had seen, and having made their selection, the team from Quality First Constructions forged ahead, supplied by Gowan Lea Timbers.

While not immediately obvious from some of the photos due to the lighting, the NewTechWood deck colour selected was Silver Grey, a popular shade that tends to blend with other colours and style settings quite easily, whether it be red brick, white limestone, or timber.

Other important and not immediately obvious benefits for the owners is NewTechWood comes with a BAL29 fire rating, it is low maintenance – needs no resanding, oiling or painting, is durable and resistant to stains, mould, UV, fading and pests, and offers the peace of mind of a 25 year warranty.  All of these considerations are significant considering the site complications.

Now the owners really can sit back and enjoy that magnificent view, and their new low maintenance back yard.
