NewTechWood secret fix decking clips make installing your new composite timber easier than ever. With builders and installation experts in mind, these secret clips have been designed to help minimise time spent on installation and provide a premium, elegant finish.
Cobra T Clip (5.5mm)
Mini Gap Clip (1.5mm)
The secret clips gap your composite boards automatically and conceal the screws out of site which not only results in a clean finish but eliminates the risk of screws and nails lifting which is often seen in traditional timber decking and fencing.
The secret fix clips slide into the grooved edge of our composite timber boards and then simply screw into the joist. At NewTechWood Australia, we provide the choice of two different gap spacings between the boards – Cobra T-Clips which are 5.5mm or Mini Gap Clips which are 1.5mm.

Fascia boards and square edge boards do not have grooved sides to accommodate the secret fix clips, so they need to be top-fixed with our coloured head screws. These screws have been specially designed for conventional and capped composite boards and are available in matching colours. Coloured head screws blend entirely into your new deck for a seamless, elegant finish. Our coloured head screws are available in two options:

Are You Ready To Start Your Project?
Whilst we back our products with confidence, you can have peace of mind knowing we offer the most comprehensive warranty on all NewTechWood composite timber products. It is important that installation is completed as per the installation guidelines, using the recommended secret fix clip systems and joist spacing to ensure your new deck, fence, screening, or cladding is installed in perfect condition.
Do I need to use the hidden clip system when installing NewTechWood decking?
Yes, it is recommended. The clip system is designed to allow the boards to expand and contract. If you top fix the boards there is no allowance for this movement UNLESS you pre-drill and follow the special instructions in the official NewTechWood decking installation guidelines. All wood plastic composite (WPC) expands and contracts in varying temperatures. The NewTechWood clips allow the boards to move accordingly so that your deck will last for many, many years.
Can I top fix my NewTechWood deck?
We recommend using the hidden clip system, but if you must top fix, in order to avoid voiding the warranty, the installation must be as per the official NewTechWood decking installation guidelines. The clip system is designed to allow the boards to expand and contract. If you face fix or top fix the boards, and if there is no allowance made for expansion and contraction, the boards may buckle and warp. For those who prefer the “look” of top-fixing, if you top fix your deck, then you must pre-drill and counter-sink each hole slightly larger than the screw to minimise potential problems. This should eliminate the possibility of the cap layer from ‘mushrooming’, and other potential problems when top-fixing.
Does NewTechWood decking utilise hidden fasteners?
Yes! NewTechWood decking has grooved boards, which are designed specifically to be fixed using the NewTechWood “Hidden Fix System”.
Where is NewTechWood made?
NewTechWood is an American family-owned company, which began in Houston, Texas. They then built their own, quality controlled, manufacturing plant in China. The American owners now manage the complete manufacturing process on site. Manufacturing in China enables them to provide top quality products at an affordable price.
